Servicing your equipment regularly, ensures its performing as well as it can, it increases its longevity and ultimately, saves you time and money by reducing the risk of unwanted breakdowns during heavy use.
Preventative maintenance depends on your volume. As a general rule, here at Metro Coffee, we recommend a checkup every 3 to 4 months and preventative maintenance every 6 months (semi-annual). This allows us to replace items affected by the usual wear and tear as well as keeping on top of water filter changes and limescale build up.
The number one reason machines fail during service is due to bad water quality. Protect your investment and get yourself a good RO system or at least a water softener. It will protect against mineral build up, water color, smells, and taste. Espresso is 96% water. The better the water quality, the better the taste.
